Gary Taylor aka Alba Beat, I'm a Electronic Solo Artist, based in Birmingham/Reykjavik, I started making music from an early age, inspired by the original music of the time, Punk, New Wave, Metal, Reggae, Electro, Pop, Disco, Funk, etc, playing rhythm's on cardboard boxes and tins writing lyrics and singing with friends in my parents Garage (we all wanted to make a break in to music scene even back then, the late 70's), from there on in i played on whatever Home keyboard, Organ, Piano, that was available, always dreaming of Synthesizers, Studios, being known for my music. In the 80's over some time i carried on making music with friends at home on simple old School Yamaha and Casio keyboards (you know the ones with a button for Drums and Fills), we also added taped recordings of cool phrases from classic Video Films of the day (yes it was old school and its called Sampling and Editing now), this was another new start to my creative approach making music, I also started DJ'ing around this time, Scratching records, Mixing up Tapes and general madness on two Turntables which is still involved in my work from time to time. Then came the 90's and i worked and played hard and bought my first Home Studio, working under the banner of Solid Dawn i built up a good back catalogue of ideas and Demos all the time working harder on my DJ live set performances, this is where i really learnt what music was all about, People, Gatherings, inspiration, new technology, attitudes and different approaches to making music, for that time it was yet another perfect building block ; ).
When the Millennium crashed in i started teaching myself more musical skill, everything about the musical process i could possibly find out about, i went back to college to learn about Music Production, Engineering, now the time is right for people to hear my Sounds, with the added confidence and mobility the Internet brings i've started The Alba Beat project up, you see a form of it here now on CD Baby. So there we have some of my Musical development in a nutshell, there really is so much much more to tell you, that said I'm sorry this Biog didn't last that long or not, I do hope you will enjoy my Musical creations here, prepared, Peace, Gary, Alba Beat.
Originally based in Bolton for many years.Started playing guitar from about age 14,playing along to Bowie's Ziggy stardust album.Joined my first band at age 16 playing keyboards, which was an Arp axxe actually, which lasted a week.Years later after learning to play i answered an ad in are local music shop for guitarist synth player. This was the start of many collaboration's with friend Andy Smith. We went through various names like Inner space The Eternal and Albert fish. The music ranged from Indie guitar tracks to experimental electronica to punk. Many years later i did an HND course in Music Tech at City College Manchester and now find myself married and living in Lancaster the rest is history. Avant Garde- ambient electronica from Lancaster based artist Electronically Yours combines elements of pure electronica, cold wave and ambient music to create delicious sonic landscapes and textures to delight the senses. These styles are also combined with contemporary dance rhythms, film music and hypnotic beats. Quite a mixture that results in a unique musical experience. The artist behind Electronically Yours, Andrew Harrison, grew up in Bolton in the 70s and was heavily influenced by the splendid Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, Silicon Teens and The Normal. But it was on hearing Kraftwerks Man Machine that the music bug bit him and his love of electronic music began. Indeed, Electronically Yours was inspired by a sleeve note from The Human Leagues first single. These influences and many others have shaped the sound of Electronically Yours. Andrew is now based in sunny Lancaster and continues to produce outstanding music.

Bernhard Woestheinrich's second album as The Redundant Rocker puts the emphasis on the 'song' and the 'feeling', as opposed to the detailed digital editing and inventive effects that marked his playful debut release, Collider. 'Heart' is a melancholy creation, which is strongly reflected in the minor keys and slow tempos of the emotive compositions. Drawing influences from French band M83 as well as Big Beat styles, Heart possesses a unique take on the notion of 'wall-of-sound' production values. The fully analogue mix comes courtesy of Clemens Schleiwies and Markus Reuter, who took a more intuitive and "rock" approach than one would usually expect with an electronic album. The track Alluvium has been featured in an Austrian TV advert.
1988/99 saw The Acid House and Detroit Techno scenes starting to take off in the UK,this is when I started to DJ. I did a few illegal parties(It was the In thing at the time) in my Hometown of Hastings, East Sussex I also did a couple of gigs at The Crypt in Hastings, playing House,Techno and Acid House along with DJ N(now known as Neill of Fireislanduk) and Marcus Turner. As the scene died down I stopped Djing, that was 1994. 12 YEARS LATER........................................................... MAY 2006: I started doing vocal tunes with Fireisland UK we recorded a demo version of a song called "Awake in my dreams" (my vocals were compared to Ian Curtis) which you can download free of charge along with a few other trax at Soundclick.com. DECEMBER 2006: I felt that I wanted to try and re-create the sound of Oldskool Detroit Techno from the late 80s early 90s but in my own style. I sincerely hope you enjoy these trax which are just a few I have created, OCTOBER 2007: The Doctor narrowly misses out on a record deal with a United States Independent Record Label April 2008: singed a single deal (Aftermath/Abapical) with Double 03 Records(Stoke-on-Trent) June 2009 signed 10 track album deal with DO3 Records OCTOBER 2008 Double A sided single "Aftermath/Abapical" availabe at all good download sites. ROBO CAST RADIO can highly recommend the new critically acclaimed Jonteknik album - 'Sounds from the Electronic Garden'. 14 tracks of electronic pleasure. Also the latest 10 track promo remixed album 'Ambiguous'. These and even more CD's are available from the J O N T E K N I K shop.
Gaining respect from the press, such as Melody maker, Future music, Music Technology, MT and The Mix, Jonteknik was crafting his own sound around the heavy influences of those great pioneers from Düsseldorf. It was soon discovered by the world's coolest Belgian and writer/producer Pascal Gabriel who helped Jonteknik sharpen production skills. Pascal introduced Jonteknik to Claudia Brücken. They both corresponded by post. A simple demo was recorded around 1993 called 'Ohm from ohm'.
Jonteknik also had the pleasure of meeting up with Holly Johnson in the mid 1990's. A few ideas were put together and there was a lot of music chat. Holly showed Jonteknik that songs worked with the right structure. An acoustic performance of 'Relax' and 'Love train' demonstrated this exactly!
More recently Jonteknik worked with Paul Humphreys and Claudia Brücken on their 'Onetwo' project. Jonteknik co-wrote and co-produced several tracks and even dabbled with lyrics. One of the highlights for Jon was getting to program percussion and synths on a track that has Martin Gore from Depeche Mode on guitar! It was a hard time for Jon as issues beyond his control were making life complicated. To this day Jon holds the times of working with Paul Humphreys as a great memory, especially creating 'The theory of everything'.
WORK WITH ONETWO
The theory of everything - part 1 (co-writer + Programmer)
The theory of everything - part 2 (co-writer + Programmer + some lyrics)
Now Jon looks towards the future and as well as working with vocalists/writers and releasing his brand new album, there are releases of older material being released to introduce you to the sound of Jonteknik.

NEW ALBUM - EVERTHING IS EVERYTHING
The idea that became Autorotation was born in Toronto some years ago when multi-instrumentalists/producers Robyn Sellman and Igor Olejar met through their work in ambient electronica, IDM, dreampop, and film music. Fast forward to 2007 when they escaped the restrictive trade laws of the USA and moved to Deptford, London in search of like-minded musicians and a more tour-permitting market. Robyn and Igor are now joined by Phil Stutely on the bass, and Kaloian Bukov on the drums. Experimenting and blurring the distinctions between groove, noise, orchestration and vocalisation, they transform their live shows into audio-visual spectacles with large projection screens, complex electronic set-ups and captivating performances. But, they can, and do, unplug, simplify and play their acoustic sets in the middle of a field. Everything Is Everything is Autorotation’s first full-length release. Best described as Kate Bush singing on a Sigur Ros track that was remixed by Aphex Twin, while being drowned in a sea of shoegazeness by the Cocteau Twins. The album features eight moody, politically-charged cinematic songs that are multi-layered, harmonic and mechanised, with soaring female vocals counter-pointed by melodic bass lines, fortified by driving beats and spiced with digital glitches. The album also includes two remixes, one by Dave Renwick (ex Communards) and the other by Norway Pumpkin from Japan, who was the winner of Autorotation’s on-line remix competition.
Physical copies, packaged in attractive digipacks, are available from: CD Baby / Amazon / Norman Records(UK)
Or, you can get it directly fromAUTORATATION, including a few extra goodies, for £9.99 + free shipping to anywhere in the world.
Founded his first band THE POLYPHONICS in 1984, after five years of piano lessons and first steps with a commodre C64 computer and some synthesizers. He was the songwriter, lead singer and sound-designer of the new wave / synthpop tunes. The band built their own Studio where they recorded, besides many other swiss bands, two own albums: The quadrophonic 'In Memory of Ganymed' was recorded for the National Exhibition "Space Science in Switzerland" in 1986. With their second album 'Undulating Ways', released in 1987, they had about 30 concerts all over Switzerland and became airplay on the swiss radio stations 'DRS 3' and 'Couleur 3'. After finishing teacher's school, he studied theoretical physics and mathematics at the University of Berne. In 1991 he studied sound engineer at the SAE School of Audio Engineering in London. During the same year he produced his first solo album, a rather melancholic collection of new wave / synthpop tunes, called 'Five Years'. Eva learned visual merchandiser and studied at the School of Arts in Berne. Steve and Eva married in 1992. In 1994, Steve opened ANALOG SERVICE, the only swiss company that shipped synthesizers, modular systems as well as other vintage electronic musical instruments to international customers. One year later he founded the TECHNOSAURUS company and began to produce the SELECTOR high-end modular synthesizer, the MICROCON analog synth and the CYCLDON analog sequencer with an electronic developer. In this period, Eva made fantastic surreal paintings and sculptures. 1998 Steve released two albums 'Retrospace' 1986-1994 (electonics / ambient) and 'Different Works' 1987-1991 (electonics / synthpop) 2000 His album 'Organics' (electonics / ambient), released at 'Manikin Records' in Berlin, was mostly produced with the TECHNOSAURUS SELECTOR. 2001-2003 Three Demo CDs 'Seeker', 'Space Crusaders' and 'Humanity' Eva made animated webdesigns and run the 70ies inspired label 'Revival Fashion' with clothes and accessoires. For the last three years, the new band COSMIC INTENT worked on the album 'Collective Illusions'. Steve has written and produced all songs and Eva created videos for the live show that will start in summer 2008. On stage, Steve is lead singer while Eva plays bass guitar and synthesizers, the rest will be performed by compute

REVIEW by Carl Jenkinson (HARD WIRED) - Aww, husband & wife bands, don't ya just love 'em? Following in the footsteps of Inertia, Brainclaw & Santa Hates You, the Swiss couple of Stefan (Steve) & Eva Hug are the latest pair to put the case for musical as well as holy matrimony. Although this is the first Cosmic Intent release Steve is an experienced musician with a discography stretching back some 24 years as well as founding the Technosaurus synth company; in that time, he's worked with a variety of electronic music styles from synthpop to rhythmic instrumental music & this experience shines through on this synthpop album through the use of a wide variety of sounds, thoughtful arrangements & imaginative compositions with Eva's e-bass work providing a tangible human element, enriching the infectious properties of such tracks as 'Love The Machines' which benefits from a nice combination of vocodered & human vocals & 'We Are', which starts off in a cheerful old skool manner before changing tack towards the end & going for a more downbeat feel with some fine piano work setting the mood. All the while Steve's complex melodics add another piece to the duo's musical jigsaw, meaning that the album is not only instantly infectious but rewards deeper listening throughout, a factor that is as much the case on such instrumental tracks as the rhythmic yet spacey 'Bioelectric Fields' (which appeared on the 1999 Organics album but sounds completely at home here) & the appropriately organic-sounding 'Preserve The Rainforest', where Eva's e-bass work really comes into its own, as is is on the vocal tracks such as 'Space Crusaders' & the superb 'Roboter Love' which features an excellent mix of Eva's vocodered voice (she also co-wrote this track) & more superb synth work. This track definately shows the duo at their best &, besides, the story of two robots sharing a tender moment in a scrapyard is surely the kind of offbeat thinking that anyone should respect! As the album progresses, 'Another Tale' & 'Undulating Ways' both provide further listening satisfaction, as does the catchy title track & while the light & bouncey 'There's Enough For All' slightly overdoes the 'niceness' factor a tad the slower 'Right Now' more than compensates for this with its genuinely uplifting chorus. So, by the power invested in me as Hard Wired Reviewer I now declare Mr & Mrs Hug's album to be a triumph that synthpoppers will not want to miss! So, big Hugs (geddit?) due all round, if you ask me!
There is a new name occurring amongst the avantgarde of electronic music : The Staticfield. But what is The Staticfield ? The Staticfield is a musical project for redefining the character of ambient music. Non mainstream, just electronic music from the real source : the heart. The Staticfield stands for unique and special sounds with a deep flowing atmosphere, that’ll catch you in a hypnotical spiderweb of soundwaves and acoustic sensations. Emerging from nowhere, The Staticfield has already created an own musical sphere beyond all known modern standards, and leaves all categories behind. It’s a sound, newborn and dramatically authentic. Rootsy, by the real meaning of this word : with a deep sense for love and feeling.

John 3:16 is a unique experiment relying on the broad culture of its solo composer. Heavy and aerial, the music is leading here. No rules to follow as no genre wide enough to encompass all the elements in John 3:16. In between soundtrack, ambient electronic and drone, each track is a piece of space somewhere, far away from here.
This is it, this is now. Cause this is all, you can have it. If you just listen to the soul, you become. Cause Im crying out, to every corner of the Earth. Why cant we live as one? In Ohm. "After spending some time smear testing peacocks for the Lebanese government, I realized at the age of 24 that the truth was stranger, that is to say less prevalent, than fiction. I interpreted this to mean that it is fine to lie and subsequently bullshitted my way through the interview and before long they trusted me enough to leave me alone with the bodies!.......prison, is indeed, also stranger than fiction. A short period of my life was spent as a cartoon tramp in an attempt to try and solve the social issue of 2 dimensional sexual apathy among the flat-less. Up until this point, my life was like a badly written screenplay for a film about fuck all". The personal failings documented above (Taken from ‘The Chronicles of Zoon’ by T. Mallon) have led to and informed the compositions you are currently listening to. After prostituting his keyboard wares to numerous bands in the South west, 2008 saw ZVS taking bold measures in stepping out alone. A passion for Genre-Spanning melody, field recordings, found sound and electronics combined with the utility of guerrilla techniques (encompassing household objects) has spat ZVS face first into the sphere of criticism in the creation of affably sinister sonic sketches and ambionic audio montage. Currently working or collaborating with Malakai,Canola Tenderfoot, Diego Chavez (Aether, A.M Architect), Ernest Gonzales (Exponential Records) , Toob , Boca 45 , Fujiya & Miyagi , Lost Idol , Dextro

Selected Discography
AtmoSphere - 2008 - Out Now ! This is my second album that has just been released! My inspiration for this album came by the atmosphere around our beloved planet earth. The songs are inspired by the different layers of air around the world, the different cloud formations that are encountered in these layers and the sounds of different weather phenomena. You will travel through these layers of air starting on the surface of the earth and ending up in space :) I sampled a lot of sounds myself like thunder storms, rain, wind etc that started my inspiration for many of the songs that you will hear.
AeroDynamics - 2007 My first ever album. I selected 'AeroDynamics' as the main theme and also the name for this album. During my involuntary military duty I served in the Dutch air force, where I was a mechanic on F-16 fighter planes. One of the classes I enjoyed a lot during my education was aerodynamics and since then I have been fascinated with the aerodynamic aspect of race cars and airplanes. All tracks on this album are about cars, planes or aerodynamic phenomena related to the theme.
Analogy 3 - 2007 Analogy 3 is the third edition of an compilation album that is filled with analog synthesizer music from various artists. My track 'Synthology' was released on this album. All tracks are especially made for this album and so not released before. All tracks are mixed together as one piece. Analogy 3 was released the same date as my own AeroDynamics album. Analogy 3 is a project of Groove Unlimited.

Future plans? OceanoGraphy (Release date : Coming October 17th 2009!)
This is my third album called 'OceanoGraphy'. My inspiration for this album came from the Earth's Oceans and the creatures living in them. While listening to this album you will be taken on a journey through the deep waters of our Oceans. You will travel together with whales, dolphins, sharks and sea turtles. Most of these creatures are threatened with extinction by the way! We should really care more about the life in our Oceans. I hope to get your attention for them this way. This album is officially endorsed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for this reason. A part of the revenue of this album will also be donated to the WWF to help preserve these beautiful creatures. I sampled a lot of sounds again myself as well above as under water. This album is planned for release during the E-live festival on the 17th of October 2009.
