SYNTHETIC PASTURES - AFTER THE HUMANS OF GONE
http://www.myspace.com/syntheticpastures
Originally a drummer in the early eighties, I gave up music and never really bothered with it until 2006 when I started playing around with computer based music. Not being a real musician other than being able to play the drums, although I haven't touched a real kit for nearly 20 years, at the moment I'm playing around with putting noises together and making one big noise, we'll see what happens in the future. Here are just a few samples of what I've done over the last 2 years, mostly improvised. I had hoped to write and record a new project call Light Fades but due to total lack of interest on my part and no ideas this has been shelved until I can put several ideas together and come up with something interesting. So listen and enjoy or not...All The Best DaveR.
Band members DaveR. microKorg,Roland SH201,Moog Modular V, Jupiter 8V, Pro 53. impOSCar, Korg Legacy, Cell, Monopoly, Polysix, MS20, M1, Wavestation, Yamaha DD55, Electric and Acoustic guitars and general noise making.

MARSHEAUX - DREAM OF A DISCO

http://www.undorecords.com/pages/marsheaux.html
MARSHEAUX - They are 2 girls from Greece. They are talented and they are sexy.
Marsheaux features on the remix of the song "She's Leaving" duet with OMD.
"She's Leaving " is from the 1981 album "Architecture and Morality". Marsheau supported OMD in Greece in 2007.
You can have a listen at the Official OMD myspace page and you can download it from the OMD website
They make electro pop music in the tradition that Depeche Mode,Human League,OMD and Soft Cell did before 27 years. Marsheaux could be a paraphrase of Marseilles as well as the last name of a sexy French actrice. Marsheaux could also mean the resurrection of Greek electro pop at a time when the term has been identified with melancholy and grief. Not in this case however.Their name is an combination of their names: Marianthi and Sophie! The two girls from Thessaloniki, decided to turn the love of their lives into a profession. And now they are the new princesses of Greek electro pop... They became famous from the radio with the cover of Pop Corn (2003) but that was just the beginning, a small taste of what was to follow. What followed was E-Bay Queen (2004) , a pop record which proved that Greek electro pop has nothing to be jealous of similar group from abroad. Magazines wrote for E-Bay Queen: An integral electro pop masterpiece!!! With influences by 80's electro pop (Visage, Yazoo, Human League), MARSHEAUX have nothing to be jealous of the modern productions such as the ones by Fisherspooner and Goldfrapp.?

SPIRAL INTO THE STORM - CONCRETE/FLUORESCENT

The new album A Futile Veneer was released on Oct 14, 2008. Visit ther websites above for more details.
By his mid-teens, Will Skol had adopted a post-punk headspace that would inform all of his projects that followed. He quit his weekly guitar lessons, and along with a daily intake of Cabaret Voltaire, (early) Simple Minds, Skinny Puppy, Gang of Four and Killing Joke (to name just a few) it made sense to do what his idols seemed to be doing: abandon convention.
Skol’s pursuit of his own electronic-driven sound, and his desire to use guitar as a contorted element within it, brought him to Toronto’s Queen Street scene. It was there that he collaborated with post-punk and industrial-influenced bands in the early 90s. By ’95, he and his musical allies had set off on a mission. Dubbing themselves Transformantra, their interest in commonplace musical structure was nil. They were big on groove, and even more determined to cultivate a head-spinning palette of sounds on each and every track. It’s no wonder the band earned so much acclaim for their 1998 debut CD. With praise from Urb, Alternative Press, XLR8R and Canada’s Exclaim!, the future was looking rosy indeed. This was not to be the case, however, as both of Transformantra’s record labels went belly-up. And by the end of the decade, the group had split. But, as the cliché goes, every cloud has a silver lining, and in this case it was the release of Skol’s remix of Everything Is Vapour (the “In The Moment Mix”) by synthpop legends Rational Youth. This rare release is available once again at iTunes and Emusic
For the next two years, Skol continued indulging himself in all things studio as he became programmer, bassist and co-producer for the electronic/rock hybrid Rockstasy. Instrumental versions of the group’s output (and that of its earlier “Mountain Mama” incarnation) were featured in a handful of film and television productions. By the summer of 2002, Skol was looking for a change of scenery. He virtually abandoned the mixing desk, and over the next four years simply concentrated on being a player. It was during this period that he met Julie Mahendran, whose distinctive jazz/r&b vocals grace two cuts on the forthcoming album debut from Spiral Into The Storm (the album, A Futile Veneer, launches October 14, 2008).
Skol’s return to the studio in August 2006 saw the beginning of his most genre-defying work yet. He wrote, produced and mixed his debut Spiral Into The Storm EP within six months, and continued piecing together new material throughout 2007 and into ‘08. Alongside vocal highlights by Julie Mahendran, Giampaolo Scatozza (whose previous collaborators include Groove Armada) also pitched in with improvised live drums and udu on the disc’s title track. And beyond putting the finishing touches on the Spiral album, Skol recently collaborated with Arthur Oskan (another DecibelPalace artist, and one of Toronto’s leading techno producers) for an EP that’s set to drop later in '08.
CYBERPIPER - Ketti
http://www.cyberpiper.com/
http://www.myspace.com/cyberpiper
For 12 long years he travelled Europe, impersonating the Pied Piper of Hamelin, playing his flutes and pipes in the streets, in restaurants, on terraces and at weddings. Settling for a while, he played in different bands of different styles, from world music and folk to folk jazz and folk rock.
The result is a new, very catching, hypnotic kind of music, mixing traditional music with ambient grooves. Combining 'Music of the future, and music of the past' the cyberpiper seems to touch the nerve of the present. He worked as a puppet maker and puppeteer, a clown and a producer of his own TV puppet shows. But the Pied Piper lingered within, and one morning, after a very restless night he awoke as the Cyberpiper. Looking for more stable ways of playing the bagpipes, he ordered a set of midi bagpipes by Alberto Arias from Spain, the SGM200. Having no influence of techno music, he bought a Roland D2 groovebox, and started experimenting with new sounds. The groovebox took the place of the drones and the drums, so typical in traditional pipe music.

The Cyberpiper uses a Boss VT1 voice transformer, mostly adding a robotic drone type voice to the original. The Cyberpiper outfit reflects the music he plays. He has a secret identity, like Batman or Spiderman, a kind of comic hero among musicians. Singing and writing in english, german, french and luxembourgish, the Cyberpiper covers subjects different areas of everyday life on this planet, and takes a critical stand against war and injustice. This makes the Cyberpiper a modern bard, a storyteller with a heart.
Substantial financial support from the local government (Ministère de la Culture de Luxembourg) had a catalysing effect on the project. The Cyberpiper has performed for all kinds of audiences of all ages ranging from 40 to 4000 people, and public reaction has been extremely positive.
COFFEE IN ZURICH - RAIN
http://www.myspace.com/coffeeinzurich
Coffee In Zurich formed in 1978. This enigmatic duo have been at the forefront of new age electronica, before they had even found a name for it.
Gathering a strong cult following during the 1980s, CIZ have continued to record regularly since then. They are currently reworking their extensive back catalogue for a new digital download market as well as working on new material. Their latest album 'Silver & Steel' is available for download on iTunes and other major music sites.
THE BAKERY - A NEW FORMATION

The Bakery news - I'm pleased to announce to all of you the forthcoming landing of "alien biologists", a 60 minute concept album about the arrival of curious insectoids from outer space. Those of you who know about my taste in movies won't be surprised. Early sketches date back to 2006 and I've been writing and recording a lot of music since then. However, as I intend this to be a really gently flowing album full of sonic surprises I will take some more time to write and record, and so the album won't be out until May 2009. The songs in here are all from the "alien biologists" sessions. Not sure how many of them will make it onto the finished album, but they should give you an idea about the sound and the atmosphere of it.
Cheers b.o.k.
The Bakery are:
b.o.k. (sol iii) - synths, programming, vocals, acoustic guitar
shazeela z (tonklinus v) - vocals, solar guitar
the great phonzo (ephemera iii) - transmolecular organ, resonance field piano
gizmo gonzalez (zoroaster iv) - drone bass, superstring pedals
lester d. funct (eumenides ii) - drums, percussion, neutrino compressor

LOUNGECLASH EXOTIC INVASION!
Loungeclash Debut album "Dread Time Story" was released Worldwide on Acrobat Music August 7th 2008. LoungeClash is the collaboration between Neil Sparkes (Temple of Sound/Ex TransGlobal Underground) and Sam Dodson (Loop Guru/Slipper/The Transmitters) , presenting a lush combination of 21st Century Lounge and Exotica programming and organic Latin Percussion. Dub Bass-lines with a twist of Jazz saxophones, Theremins and Hammond organs, a truly delicious coctail for electronic music hipsters, lounge freaks and world music explorers getting lost somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle and finding God in the shape of Slim Gaillard!
"Dread Time Story" (Warlock Records/Sony Red Distr) is due for release in USA on Feb 19th 2008. The debut by this UK based duo is a truly Lounge-Tastic blend of Exotica, Electronica, Afro-Cuban percussion and Dub dance rhythms .
The duo were brought together by their passion to combine Exotica sounds with truly Technicolor images and to merge electronic and acoustic music in a Dub Style. They built on their World music, dub, and Latino hip-hop influenced productions by adding a cocktail of live congas and percussion with Dub reggae basses, hip Hammonds, Theremins and smoking Saxophones, the musical result being a distinctive and unique journey through late night Lounge bars and Tropical Tiki paradise.
Loungeclash "Dread Time Story" (Acrobat Music) - Album Reviews
"Neil Sparkes is one of England's living treasures, a Renaissance man for whom selling out is anathema and creative expression is all. A former member of Transglobal Underground and Temple of Sound, Sparkes has teamed up with Sam Dodson (Loop Guru/Slipper/ The Transmitters) to form a new partnership, Loungeclash. Having already proved themselves as a live act - think Gotan Project combining Exotica, Lounge, Dub and Film Soundtrack music with Burlesque, Loungeclash release their debut to high expectations on the back of rave live reviews. Here is an outfit with personality...But what makes this debut different is it's roots in the rhythms of '70s Dub reggae. These kitsch -loving Dubsters are out to entertain as well as inspire and sooth" - Songlines
"Global dance fusion goes loungecore with tremendous results."
Neil Sparkes and Sam Dodson have long been veterans of Global dance fusion with Transglobal Underground/ Temple of Sound and Loop Guru. On "Dread Time Story" they team up to add lounge music to the eclectic mix - and the results are as extraordinary and as exotic as you would expect. The attention never wanders - for every track is not only capriciously different, the whole enterprise is witty, sexy and inspired." - HMV Choice
"A smoky blend of vintage film soundtracks, exotica, jazz and dub, taking lounge music into dangerous and sexy new territory.
Porno movie moans and stabs of cinematic strings, all underpinned with insistent, insinuating grooves. Pleasingly uneasy late night listening." - Straight NoChaser

AtmoSphere - 2008 - Out Now ! This is my second album that has just been released! My inspiration for this album came by the atmosphere around our beloved planet earth. The songs are inspired by the different layers of air around the world, the different cloud formations that are encountered in these layers and the sounds of different weather phenomena. You will travel through these layers of air starting on the surface of the earth and ending up in space :) I sampled a lot of sounds myself like thunder storms, rain, wind etc that started my inspiration for many of the songs that you will hear. |

AeroDynamics - 2007 My first ever album. I selected 'AeroDynamics' as the main theme and also the name for this album. During my involuntary military duty I served in the Dutch air force, where I was a mechanic on F-16 fighter planes. One of the classes I enjoyed a lot during my education was aerodynamics and since then I have been fascinated with the aerodynamic aspect of race cars and airplanes. All tracks on this album are about cars, planes or aerodynamic phenomena related to the theme. |

Analogy 3 - 2007 Analogy 3 is the third edition of an compilation album that is filled with analog synthesizer music from various artists. My track 'Synthology' was released on this album. All tracks are especially made for this album and so not released before. All tracks are mixed together as one piece. Analogy 3 was released the same date as my own AeroDynamics album. Analogy 3 is a project of Groove Unlimited. |

ACP028: Red Box Recorder - Fallow Duusk! 2008 Acroplane Recordings.
DOWNLOAD THE DEBUT ALBUM - IT'S FREE!
http://www.archive.org/details/acp028_red_box_recorder_-_fallow_duusk
The debut album from Red Box Recorder makes a statement of intent. Setting his sights on nothing less than world domination and political hegemony, this London-based producer uses the medium of wonky electronica to indoctrinate the masses. Ranging from ravetastic workouts to meditative soundscapes, and embracing everything in between, this is music designed to surprise, delight and induce total brain meltdown – for free!
The emphasis here is not on technical wizardry but composition - a considered attempt to create something new out of the familiar components of techno, dubstep, live instrumentation and, er, a touch of classical. Whether it works or not is for listeners to decide, but rest assured that this album makes an exciting new contribution to the body of music we politely call “underground”.
And remember - at £0.00, the “Fallow Duusk!” download is cheaper on average than Radiohead’s free album “In Rainbows”!

'The Circle' has developed a unique and original musical style, dubbed 'Indie Electronica', that encompasses a fusion of rock and dance beats suited especially to the live music scene. 'The Circles' debut E.P, entitled 'Monster Inside', is demonstrative of their powerful new sound, featuring 5 original tracks. 'The Circle' is sure to introduce an electric new style to Australia's music scene. They are currently working on their debut album. Gina Mezzino: Vocals. Stu Box: Guitars
LOUIS GUIDONE - STOP STALKING ME
http://www.louisguidone.com/
http://www.myspace.com/louisguidonemusic
Louis Guidone started experimenting with music at 17 back in 1990 on an eclectic assortment of samplers, tape decks, effects, synths, drum machines, and so on. He now makes music on his computer. Although music was an on again off again thing for a while, things got very serious in 2006 when remixing went on the back burner (despite increasing requests for his skills) and creation of original compositions dominated the bulk of his time.
His first album “I Go On With My Life” was launched on Snocap 8/02/08 and is also available on CD-R through his website.
He had so much fun covering some of his favorite Depeche Mode songs for the Modeified project (he contributed Photographic, Fools, and Ice Machine to Modeified 7) that he decided to make more and release his own Depeche Mode and Recoil tribute entitled “Destruction Time Again” on September 1st, 2008.
He has remixed many artists, but most noticeable are his remixes of Information Society which appears on their website, Slayer which has been played at Contempt NYC, PTYL which included him on the download version of LOKI:God Of Change:The Remix Album, Diverje who will put his work on an upcoming remix cd, Leather Strip who he has been a fan of from day one, and many more.
CIRCLEFREAK - BLIPMASS
http://www.myspace.com/circlefreak
http://www.garageband.com/artist/circlefreak
Discovered the absolute bliss of music at around 8 years old. Listened to a lot and seen plenty live, done some clubbing. At some point acquired a copy of Music and then Music2000 for the PS1 and realised that could make some pretty decent sounds and enjoy myself at the same time. Roped a mate in to build me a pc for music making, got myself a keyboard n some samples and off I went. Now using off the peg pc (original pc died recently) running Cubase VST32, Reason 2.0, Creative Wavestudio and Audacity. Keyboard is Midiman oxygen8. All samples used are taken from free cds or downloaded.

Roxy, an Australian born self managed Singer/Songwriter, spent much of the last 2000 - 2006 years splitting her time between Melbourne and London writing, recording and performing in both territories. Her collaborators include: John Von Ahlen (The Tenth Stage, Big brother, Before the Game, and Rove Live), John Collins (Gina G, writer on Anthony Callea’s debut album); Duane Morrison (co-writer Madison Avenue’s Don’t Call me Baby); UK production team Mauv.
In December 2004 Roxy won the
MusicOz Best Dance Artist Award with the song “Electric Nights” – incidentally produced and co-written by John Von Ahlen! This lead to broad spectrum media, exposure in both National Press and Top 40 Radio. Including a nationally broadcast interview and radio play on the Austereo Network‘s many high rating radio stations. John Von Ahlen has been writing and producing music for over 15 years. His production/collaboration credits include Big Brother Australia, Delta Goodrem, Olivia Newton-John, Gina G, Belinda Emmett, Rove Live (TV Theme), skitHouse (TV Theme), Queer As Folk, The Wog Boy (Soundtrack), Tabula Rasa (Soundtrack), Johnny X, Mr Jones, Craig Heath , Real Life, Angelspit and Tankt.
Parralox was formed in February 2008 because John needed a vehicle to express the electro music he was creating but didn’t fit in with the style of his other, much darker band, The Tenth Stage. After a bit of head scratching he called Roxy and asked if she would like to collaborate together on an exciting music project, which she of course agreed to! Parralox released their music on myspace and within a matter of weeks the electronic community had embraced them, as the reviews above testify. This led to the band being requested to appear on the Electronically Yours Vol 1 Compilation CD (UNDO
Records/EMI Greece) organised by the founder of the Electronically Yours after he heard Parralox’s music on their myspace page.
In September 2008 their album “Electricity” was the #2 best selling CD on the MusicnonStop Store in UK. Their debut album Electricity was released September 2008. It is a Limited Edition CD, released in conjunction with the Electronically Yours website, and features 3 bonus tracks.
The band will launch their album in London, UK on November 28th @ Industry Club, presented by Electronically Yours. More details below.
Limited "Electronically Yours" Edition 15 tracks of blisteringly fat synths, with precise electronics beats and soulful vocals, which outline themes of surrealism, science fiction, synthetic and the beautifully grotesque. The Limited Edition includes 3 bonus tracks.

THOMAS LEER - H IS FOR HOME (ANALYST REMIX)
http://www.thomasleer.co.uk/
http://www.myspace.com/futurehistoric
Over 25 years on, one of the most collectable and influential UK indie singles remains 1978’s Private Plane by Thomas Leer. It appeared on his own Oblique label and was a groundbreaking mixture DIY electronics, tape loops and hushed vocals. Cut-and-paste music in a cut-and-paste sleeve. It was, as discogs.com remembers, “compelling pop with a dark heart, swooping between the pretty and the pretty disturbing.”
Thomas Leer is a British musician who as well as releasing a number of albums and singles in his own right, was also one half (the other being Claudia Brücken) of the 1980’s electropop band Act.
From pure pop and soul, via psychedelia and New Wave, Thomas Leer arrived at the end of the Seventies with his seminal DIY indie release, Private Plane, to help jump start a movement still evident today. With shrewd invention often born of necessity, he blended conventional instruments with tape loops, electronic experimentation and treatments to forge a compelling pop with a dark heart, swooping seamlessly (or not) between the pretty and the (pretty) disturbing.
A few years of indie cult status led inevitably to his recruitment to the major labels, where as reluctant synth boffin, he sought to challenge the listener, undermine or reinvent form, and playfully subvert expectation. It would never last. Finding what he hoped was a natural haven of like-minded souls at ZTT, Thomas formed and disbanded the finely honed but blissfully ignored ACT in little more than a year. Tired and a little bit jaded, he took a (quite) long break from releasing any music to regroup and pursue some personal projects.
Recording again in recent years, Thomas Leer seems resolute in his doggedness to avoid classification. If his music draws on wildly varied sources (and it does), it’s always stamped with his own brand - as ever, striving to celebrate the eclectic in music creation. A true original.
