ABOUT KOMPUTER -
Komputer is the project of two London-based synth-meisters: Simon Leonard and David Baker. The band have been writing, mixing and producing for 11 years now, and show no signs of slowing down, as the release of their new album "Synthetik" attests. Their sound is rigorously electronic and their tracks deal with such diverse subjects as: Russian cosmonauts, rubbish compactors and mobile phone ringtones. Musical antecedents and influences include Kraftwerk, Georgio Moroder, Syd Barrett and Brian Eno. Komputer has played and continues to play live gigs at festivals and clubs throughout the length and breadth of Europe; most recently in Turkey and Sweden. All the band's releases have been on Mute records, and it is their pleasure to have such excellent stable-mates as the likes of Motor, Depeche Mode, Laibach, Nitzer Ebb and Wire.

Komputer's debut album, “The World of Tomorrow" came out in 1998 and was a glorious assemblage of top-notch electro songs, conceptually a reaction against Oasis’ glorification of The Beatles, with Kraftwerk as heroes. Due to the band’s strict quality control, a further 2 albums worth of material never saw the light of day. Eventually their second album, "Market Led" was released in 2002. It was a glitchy, crazy slice of mittel-european electronica and owed its depths to the likes of Murcof and Pole.

"Synthetik", the third album, gradually evolved over a long period of time, the tracks being tried out in live sets then discarded or reworked in the studio. It finally matured into a return to the more traditional Electro sound of the first album, with the incorporation of a more experimental and contemporary electronica approach throwing the genre a few curves along the way. Enjoy.

Synthetik (2007) 'electronica at its most optimistic' > Market Led (2002) 'the year's most brilliantly scintillant and earnestly playful electronic album', 'sounds like the kind of music Robby The Robot from 'Forbidden Planet' would make' > The World Of Tomorrow (1998) 'kraftwerk's illegitimate offspring', 'endless doppelgangin' pleasure'

PJ ROSE – Upper

http://www.myspace.com/pjrosemix

SUBLAGRIMAL - Wall Of Lamentations

SKINMACHANIX - Overflight

SkinMeChaNIx began life in August 1999 as a short lived but prolific collaboration between T-Bass UK's Dave Hughes and avant-garde sound experimentalist, Skin. The objective was to get back to basics, to reclaim some of the joy of creating original music and to work with some new and previously untried techniques. The end product, we feel, was something very special indeed - dance rhythms fused with throbbing retro sequences and fiery electronic soundscapes, strong melodies and challenging arrangements, all welded together to form a magical melange and occupying a territory which was perhaps unique in the UK synth music scene.

Sadly, the SkInMeChaNIx collaboration folded very quickly and the session tapes remained untouched for three years before the project was finally resurrected in January 2002. However, because of a number of engineering issues, the early demo tapes proved virtually useless and so David Hughes began the task of re-recording and rearranging the source material to form the basis of a more commercial release.

These efforts proved highly successfull and the debut album from The Secret Life of Angels was released in September 2002. The album made its debut at Jodrell Bank Planetarium that month and the audience reaction was very positive and enthusiastic. After quickly gaining a number of excellent reviews and a great deal of airplay around the world, SkinMechanix continues albeit in a solo capacity.

Live concerts are now a regular feature. So far, SKinMechanix have performed at three concerts in the Awakenings series, two as the headline act. The disc Fallen Angel was recorded at the Awakenings concert in February 2005 and features both live and studio pieces. Fallen Angel was released as a limited edition disc in December 2005 and was sold out completely within two days. A revised version Fallen Angel: The second coming is current in preparation.
The band remains highly active with new material emerging throughout 2006 and 2007 though no formal release date has been given for the new album.

About Infection Music

The company began life in 1999 as an outlet for interesting, melodic and accessible electronic music. T-Bass UK joined the roster in the same year and were immediately followed by avant garde outfit SkinMechanix. In 2001, the company branched out into designing its own musical instruments. The first instrument to emerge from nearly 4 years of R & D is the Zeit Step Sequencer. Check out http://www.infectionmusic.com/instruments for more information. Please can you listen to our tunes before asking to be added as a friend. We're interested in music not just who has the most friends!!!! :)

THE PEACH TREE - Viral

http://www.myspace.com/musicofthepeachtree

http://www.mp3.com.au/thepeachtree

About The Peach Tree (Melbourne Australia) - The Peach Tree is the solo project of musician/writer/producer Angus Maiden. He believes in freedom of copyable information and encourages everyone to download his tracks for free. The project began began circa 2003 as school friends Angus Maiden and Michael Cooney's concept of a band; a band that would break genre barriers and reach across the music spectrum to touch a whole host of different individuals. The duo began writing songs together after they finished school and practised sporadically, but the dream of being up there on stage delivering their message always seemed faraway.  Although both Cooney and Gus had their own songs that they brought to the table and also had songs that they wrote together, they never got around to recording anything together. Meanwhile a fire burned in Gus for their music to be heard, and in the next few years he actively recorded new material that he had written solo, and began to put it up on the net. But Cooney was skeptical of putting stuff out there that was frankly unrefined and amateurish. Gus, not wanting to filter what he felt was good, raw, plaintive material, put up the music he had written and recorded across a range of sites including mp3.com.au and Last.fm, almost as soon as they occured. From 2003 to 2006 the two kept their dream that they would form a "proper" band and start delivering their songs to local audiences. They continued to jam and officialy recruited new members, but never fully coalesced into a cohesive entity. Members of the "band" at one point reached 5 members: Cooney (guitar, vocals), Gus (guitar, vocals), Erin (bass), Sarah (synth, piano) and Bourkey (drums), but as people do, they all led busy lives and slowly, they dispersed. Angus kept at it, though, and today The Peach Tree can only truly be defined as his own solo project. He has released four albums and two EPs under the name. His sound derives from the massive range of influences he is exposed to, and includes everything from pop melodies to dance tracks, death metal epics, and rockin' blues tracks.

All The Peach Tree's work is under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 Australia License, meaning you can download, distribute, and even remix the work for free as long as it is not for profit, and credit is given to the artist.

A brief history of SUGAR FIRE by Richard Dalby

In 2005, I was invited to take part in an 'Electronica Fest', and this sparked off a new period of writing, collaborating on several tracks with Grenadan born drummer & poet, Judah Allen.  I was honoured to perform alongside two Classical Indian vocalists, Sarvamangala Shankar & Rashmi Manjunatha.  Shantha Rao, the highly respected classical Indian dancer, also performed to a re-mix track featuring the vocals of David SylvianTheir grace and sublime performances made it an incredibly special concert. In April 2006 I performed at the 'Concert for Tibet'. The line up again featured Judah Allen, as well as Mick West on trumpet and electric guitar.

Richard Dalby, with the Khenpo of Shechen Monastery, Nepal, handing over donation raised from the 'Concert for Tibet' CD.

I recently released my debut CD called 'Concert for Tibet'. It features performances from the 'Concert for Tibet', as well as 'Bhajan' with Rashmi & Sarvamangala's astonishing vocals, re-mastered studio tracks, and re-mixes by CalderValium& Chemical Monkey.  All profits from the concert and CD are donated to humanitarian projects within Tibet. This CD is availble  from the SUGAR FILE MYSPACE page.
SUGAR FIRE’s debut CD includes a live recording from the highly acclaimed ’Concert for Tibet’, studio tracks, and stunning re-mixes by Chemical Monkey and CalderValium. Copies of the CD cost just £7.50 (£2.00 p&p), with all profits donated to humanitarian projects in Nepal / Tibet.
